    THIS FORM IS INTENDED FOR NEW EDO'S ONLY! Existing EDOs do NOT need to submit a EDO Designation Application.

    While universities are not eligible to serve as Economic Development Organizations under the Innovate Alabama Tax Credit Program, they remain essential partners in Alabama’s innovation ecosystem. Innovate Alabama offers several alternative programs designed to directly engage higher education institutions in advancing innovation, entrepreneurship, and research collaboration.     The undersigned does hereby certify as follows:

    1. The organization applying is not organized or operated for profit.

    2. The organization applying is charged with improving the State of Alabama.

    3. The organization applying has a record of supporting or otherwise participating in econcomic development efforts in Alabama.

  • EDO Designation letters will expire three years from the date of issuance. Upon expiration, you may simply include your previous EDO Designation letter when submitting your Tax Credit Project Application.
